Our providers understand how the many challenges that you navigate daily impact your health and are dedicated to helping you reach and maintain optimal health and well being. We provide individualized guidance to address common women’s health issues such as menstrual irregularities, PMS, cyclic migraines, fertility concerns, menopause symptoms and more.
Sometimes conventional therapies aren’t able to provide the answers you are seeking to understand your health. As Naturopathic Doctors, we apply a holistic approach to health, working with you to thoroughly understand your health history, honor your experience and listen to your concerns. Our treatment plans emphasize healthy choices for lifestyle, nutrition and mental wellbeing as your primary vehicles for optimizing your health.
We’ll also create an individualized plan, utilizing the least invasive treatments, to support your body’s natural processes, such as herbal medicines, targeted nutrients and if needed, safe hormone therapy medications.

A woman’s “normal” requires her to adapt to ever-changing cycles. This not only includes monthly cycles, but greater cycles over a lifetime, from starting your period, to pregnancies, to menopause.
The hormones that our bodies produce every minute of everyday function as messengers, influencing how our mind and physical body function and respond to stressors. Hormones influence our metabolism, sexual health, sleep, digestive health and emotional regulation to name a few. They can help us to wake up and move through our day with energy, positivity and motivation when they are well balanced and working with us. However, even a slight imbalance can affect our health and quality of life. When hormones are poorly balanced, we can feel tired, sluggish, sad or depressed and physically uncomfortable.
Hormone dysregulation also leads to and contributes to a number of symptoms and conditions such as insomnia, chronic fatigue, chronic yeast infections, uncomfortable digestive changes, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), endometriosis, PMS (premenstrual syndrome), painful intercourse, and menopausal symptoms. All of which can all be effectively addressed with naturopathic medicine.
Biological differences in women often play a role in digestive issues.
Our hormones influence healthy digestive function and movement. When they are imbalanced, you can experience flare ups of bloating, nausea, constipation and diarrhea. The most common times in a woman’s cycle to see these changes are around ovulation, with menses or with perimenopause.
It’s also important to remember that anatomically, the uterus and ovaries share space with the digestive tract. This necessitates a more complex route for the digestive tract from one end to the other than our male counterparts. The proximity of these systems is also a factor in conditions like endometriosis, when you can see digestive symptoms occurring as a result of dysfunctional endometrial tissue.
Digestive problems such as heartburn, chronic constipation, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), and IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) are common in women due to the effects of chronic stress, nutritional choices, hormone imbalances, and dysbiosis.
Working with a Naturopathic Doctor can help to restore balance with your hormones, your gut and improve overall digestive health. Our providers are able to help you identify triggers and solve underlying issues that may be causing digestive health issues.
There is also a gender discrepancy in immune response. Female immune systems tend to respond more strongly in response to infections, which can be both positive and negative. While it may mean clearing the pathogens causing infection faster, the robust immune response can also lead to excessive inflammation and exacerbation of autoimmune issues.
Women are more likely to suffer from autoimmune disorders such as Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, psoriasis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Using non-invasive therapies, Naturopathic Doctors are able to to support your system, manage symptoms and reduce reduce risk of developing disease.
