Golden Milk Recipe

Looking for a warm and comforting drink to enjoy during the colder months?

Look no further than golden milk!

This popular beverage has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine for its many health benefits. Not only is it delicious, but it also contains powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

We often recommend making a batch of Golden Milk paste and storing in the refrigerator to use over the following couple months.

Golden Milk Recipe

To make your own golden milk, you will need the following:

Ingredients

  • ½ cup organic turmeric, ground
  • 1 ½ tsp organic black pepper, ground
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp ground ginger or 1” piece of fresh grated ginger
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup cup coconut oil
  • 1 ¾ cups filtered water
  • 6 Tbsp honey

Directions

Combine all ingredients, except honey, in a saucepan and heat over medium heat, whisking constantly.  Once the mixture begins to boil, whisk constantly for 10 minutes.  Boiling is crucial to reduce the bitterness of the turmeric and for a smooth paste.

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes, until cool enough to touch.  Add honey and whisk vigorously until combined.  Honey helps to emulsify the mixture and gives it a lovely taste.

Store golden milk paste in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.

To make a cup of golden milk, mix 1 heaping teaspoon of golden milk paste to 1 cup of dairy or non-dairy milk of your choice.

Warm if desired and whisk well to combine before enjoying!
