5 Simple Ways to Naturally Boost Women’s Health

Women often take on too much mental and physical burden. It is important to make smart lifestyle and health choices to deal with these daily stressors. Here are a few simple things that women can do every day (or with regularity) to ensure good health.

Adopt a healthy diet. 

You can never go wrong with incorporating more vegetables and natural foods, preferably organic or unsprayed, into your diet. Avoid overly processed and packaged foods that have ingredients you do not understand. For meat-eaters, get the highest-quality meat you can afford. This includes salmon or other omega-3-rich fatty fish, as well as organic, pastured chicken. Finally, be sure to drink plenty of water, especially during the hot summer months!

Regularly exercise. 

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women in America? By getting plenty of exercise, you can help keep your heart healthy. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, five days a week. Potential workouts include walking, swimming, jogging, bicycling and dancing.

Manage stress. 

It is important to take a few minutes every day to relax and reset. Try stress management techniques such as exercise, relaxation techniques or meditation.

Check for breast cancer. 

The American Cancer Society suggests women should regularly check for breast cancer starting in their 20s. Be on the lookout for any changes in your breasts and report any concerns to your doctor. If you are 40 or older, you should get a yearly mammogram. 

While a woman’s health can evolve with age, there are standard health basics that should be followed to improve your quality of life for years to come.
